Delhi Capitals is one of the 10 teams that participate in the Indian Premier League every year organized by the BCCI. The older name of the Delhi Capitals was Delhi Daredevils but it was renamed as Delhi Capitals from the 12th edition of the IPL on December 5th, 2018. Everything belonging to the Daredevils has been shifted to the new form and also changed the color of their kit. The Wrogn Active is the manufacturer of the Delhiās kit, while JSW, Nokia holds the sponsorship of t-shirts and APL Apollo Steel Tubes has the right of chest branding. The team fights their home matches at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi stadium as their home ground which has the capacity of 55,000 people to take in.

The squad was established in 2008, with Kiran Kumar Grandhi and Parth Jindal purchasing the Delhi Capitals franchise from the BCCI. Siddharth Bhasin has been named CEO, while Ricky Ponting, the most successful captain of all time, has been designated head coach, with Shane Watson and Ajit Agarkar assisting Ricky Ponting. Pravin Amre will be the batting coach whereas James Hopes will handle the bowling department as a bowling coach.

The franchise was agreed to keep four main players in the retained list i.e, Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Prithvi Shaw, Anrich Nortje, and the team will compete under the captaincy of Rishabh Pant. In the IPL 2022 season, the Delhi franchise has brought some big and experienced names like David Warner and Mitchell Marsh. In the IPL 2021 season, Delhi Capitals performed very well and secured a place at the top position but they lost both the matches in the elimination round and could not reach the final. The franchise gives opportunities to the young talent but the Delhi boys are still waiting for their first IPL title. They got the chance to lift the title for the first time in the IPL 2020 season but Mumbai Indians ruined their dream by defeating DC by 5 wickets.

Rishabh Pant is the leading scorer of the Delhi Capitals with 2,292 runs from 76 innings and Amit Mishra is the leading wicket-taker with 106 wickets in 99 matches and he has also made one hat trick. The pair of David Warner and Naman Ojha holds the record of making the highest partnership of unbeaten 189 runs for Delhi Capitals. So, it would be interesting to watch how Delhi Capitals will perform in the IPL 2022 as they have acquired Warner and Marsh who will provide extra benefits to the batting lineup.
