GMCH Recruitment 2021: Government Job Vacancy for Staff Nurse

The nursing profession is one of the most trustworthy and reputed professions in the world. They not just take care of many healthcare responsibilities but assist the doctor as well. Also, they play a crucial role in supervising the staff, doing wound care, administering medications, etc. Nevertheless, it is not wrong to call them the backbone of hospitals. Hence, there are always Jobs Openings for them everywhere.

To become a Nursing Officer, one has to pursue Diploma in General Nursing and get at least a Bachelor in Nursing. However, the vacancies for nursing staff in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) are few, while the list is massive. And so, one has to face exams and outperform other applicants to secure the seat. Department of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh Administration (DMER) is a government institution that conducts such exams i.e. DMER Recruitment.

Important Dates: Deadline for application

Well, the application for one such exam named recruitment of staff nurse has been going on since 15th November 2021. Nevertheless, the last date for this application is 27th December 2021. However, one can also apply till 30th December 2021 after paying a penalty fee for late.

Seat Distribution

This time, the total number of vacancies for recruitment 2020 is 162. Now, out of the 162 seats, the reserved seats for OBCs are 46 and 25 seats for SC. Besides, there is a reservation of 2 seats for PH. In these categories, there’s a separate reservation for ex-servicemen applicants as well.

Eligibility

The maximum age limit for the post is 37 years, whereas a five years’ age relaxation for SC applicants and 3-years for OBC applicants.

From a recognized university, applicants must hold a Diploma in General Nursing or a Bachelor Degree in Nursing.

Also, a proper registration as a Nurse and midwife with State Nursing Council is mandatory for all applicants.

Besides, they should have a certificate in ICT skill course or DOEACC. However, candidates with a degree in computer science can avoid this requirement.

Application Fees

For this vacancy, there is a non-refundable application fee of Rupees one thousand. However, a scheduled caste candidate needs to pay only five hundred rupees. Whereas an applicant with an ex-serviceman background doesn’t need to pay fees and, the process is entirely free for her.

Selection Procedure

In the selection process, there will be no personal interview round, and the written examination and practical assessment will only be the basis of the final selection. Besides, there will be two parts of written exams where the first part will be about Nursing and carrying 70 marks. Whereas, the second part will be practical evaluation and carrying 30 marks. Also, it’s mandatory to score at least 40% for SC and 50% for OBC/General and qualify in both exams.

Elements to keep in mind while applying online

One can only apply via the official website of the Department http://gmch.gov.in, not via a post in the Department.

For uploading photos and signatures, one can scan on white paper and let the size not exceed 100kbs.

One must keep the login and password details safe, as it’s difficult to recover them.

After clicking on Bank Challan, one should wait for at least 48 hours. Usually, it takes a minimum duration of 24 hours for your details to reach the bank. Once you deposit the fees, you’ll get the Bank Challan as a confirmation.

After finalizing the application, take two printouts of the form. On one application form, you’ve to paste the same photo which you uploaded in the beginning while applying.
