The ICC T20 World Cup 2021 will be the seventh edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tournament. The venue for ICC T20 2021 World Cup is scheduled to United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman from October 17 to November 14, 2021. West Indies is the defending champions of the 2021 T20 World Cup. They defeated England in the 2016 World Cup final.

West Indies is the most successful team in ICC T20 World Cup campaign. They won two editions back in 2012 by defeating Sri Lanka in the final and in 2016 by beating England. India had won the maiden edition of the I.C.C. Men’s T20 World Cup in 2007.

The ICC 2021 Men’s T20 World Cup will commence on October 17, 2021. There will be group stage qualifying matches from October 1 till October twenty second, 2021. Eight teams will compete against each other, out of which four teams will qualify for the Super 12 round. The Super 12 round will start on October 23, 2021. The Final of the tournament will be held on November 14, 2021, at Dubai International Stadium.
Who Won the First T20 World Cup?
The first-ever ICC Men’s T20 World Cup was held in South Africa back in 2007. It was a very successful edition of the game of cricket. The Indian Cricket team had won the maiden edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The Indian team had defeated Pakistan in the Final of the tournament. The Indian team had shown brilliant tempo and quality cricket throughout the tournament.
Yuvraj Singh was India’s best batsman in the tournament. He had scored the fastest fifty in the tournament in just 12 balls against England. The ICC T20 World Cup 2007 also became famous for Yuvraj Singh’s six sixes in an over. Yuvraj had smashed six sixes in 1 over of Stuart Broad and registered his name in the book of cricket.
M.S. Dhoni led the Indian cricket team. India had played fearless cricket under M.S. Dhoni’s captaincy and became champion. Shahid Afridi of Pakistan won the tournament award in the 2007 T20 World Cup for his brilliant all-round performance. Matthew Hayden of Australia was the leading run-scorer (265 runs), and Umar Gul of Pakistan was the leading wicket-taker (13 wickets) in this tournament.

They are the defending champions and will undoubtedly play like champions. West Indies team is always dangerous in T20Is. The tournament is very unpredictable, and one cannot predict the winner as all the teams are capable of winning the tournament.

The T20 World Cup 2021 was originally scheduled in Australia in 2020, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the tournament was postponed to October 2021 and rescheduled to U.A.E. and Oman as new locations. There are a total of 4 venues in which 45 matches are organized. The venues are
