Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board released notification to fill the posts of Sub-Inspectors of Police- Taluk & Armed Reserve. There is the total of 399 positions are available for Sub-Inspectors of Police (Taluk) and 45 posts are for Sub-Inspectors of Police (AR). The total number of available posts is 444. The breakup of the posts is given below:

Out of the posts, 20% is department quota and 10% in sports quota. In addition to this 20% vacancies will be reserved for the candidates who studied in Tamil medium.

Age Criteria
The age limit is 20 years to 30 years. Upper age relaxation will be given as per the below-mentioned table:

Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate must have completed a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- A candidate with an open degree is not eligible for the positions.

Selection Procedure
Selection will be based on the written test, certification verification and physical test, interview, and special marks. To qualify for the written examination non-department candidate, need to secure 40% marks, and a department quota candidate needs to secure 20% marks. In addition to these minimum qualifying marks for the written examination will be 25% for the open candidate and 30 for department candidate.
There will be 15 marks for the Physical test and 10 marks for the interview. There will also be additional 5 marks for special medals and recognitions. The candidate will be given marks out of a total of 100 marks.

Written test
Part-1: Tamil eligibility test- 100 marks – 1 hour 40 minutes duration
Part-2 – Open Quota – General knowledge (80 questions, 40 marks) and psychology (60 questions, 30 marks)- 70 marks – 2-hour 30 minutes duration
Part 2- Department Quota- General knowledge (30 questions, 15 marks), Psychology, Law and Police Administration test (140 questions, 70 marks) – 85 marks- 3 hours duration
Certification verification- Open Quota- 15 marks
Certification verification- Department Quota- Exempted
Viva-voce- 10 marks
Special Marks- 5 marks
